important tips
If you're having problems installing a theme, in truth, there's not much a theme maker can help you with that. Make sure you that you've deleted all of your previous code, and pasted the entirety of the new code. Double save, and refresh. (look at below section for more info)If you ever find yourself having to do quite a bit of manual coding to get your pages customized, I recommend creating a sideblog for purely page-testing means. It's more convenient, as you can see how you're editing a page immediately, as compared with installing the page first, then customizing.
The command ctrl+f can come in really handy when editing! It allows you to search through the code for a specific phrase/word. Let's say I want to find the phrase really handy in the code...
As seen, the phrase will come up highlighted in the code. This keyboard command comes in really especially useful if a theme maker has instructed you to edit a certain phrase in the code or something.
With the new customize screen, we now have another ability to skip to certain lines of the code. Simply click Edit HTML from the customize screen, followed by the gear at the top left. You'll get the option to skip to whatever line number you need to!
